Welcome to Meydy Projects, the creative expression of Meidan Gutraiman (Meydy), an artist and musician, and storyteller from Israel. Music has been my lifelong companion – a universal language that expresses deep emotions and connects us all.
A Journey Through Sound
From a young age, music has been my guide. I began playing the keyboard as a child, and at 15, I joined a band that performed at vibrant bars and festivals in Haifa and the Krayot. The band’s journey ended in 1995, but my passion for music continued to burn brightly, even as I ventured into new professional paths in the tech industry.
Inspired by Life
The music I create reflects a diverse range of influences: the raw energy of rock and metal, the pulsating beats of electronic music, the nostalgic sounds of ’80s new wave, and the heartfelt essence of Israeli rock from the ’80s and ’90s. My compositions draw from these styles, weaving together stories and emotions into a rich musical tapestry.
From the Heart to Yours
In 2018, after years dedicated to a career in high tech, I rediscovered my creative spirit and returned to music with fresh inspiration. Since then, I’ve been exploring, learning, and creating every day, crafting melodies and lyrics that come from the soul. Music is not just something to hear – it’s something to feel, to live, and to share.
Whether it’s a song to celebrate a special moment, a piece that inspires storytelling, or simply a melody that speaks to the heart, Meydy Project is all about sharing music that moves people in meaningful ways.
A Family Affair
Music is also a family tradition. My wife, Sharon Gutraiman, a former vocalist in local bands, has joined me in this creative journey. Together, we’ve released original songs and covers under the name Sharon & Meidan, including tracks that have gained recognition on Israeli radio charts. Our shared passion for music enriches every note and lyric, making this collaboration not only meaningful but also an essential part of our story.
